On Friday, October 6, 2017 Orchid’s Lansing site had a special visitor. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Creg Carpenter was able to see firsthand where parts he commonly uses in surgery are created. Dr. Carpenter has been a surgeon for over 20 years working mainly with knee and hip replacements. He was introduced to Orchid when one of Orchid’s employees, Tom Lockwood, had hip surgery. The two found that they shared something in common shortly into the appointments leading up to surgery. ..

Orchid’s facility in Lansing, MI has been forging exotic materials used in joint implants since 1994. Most of the products we make are for hip and knee systems such as tibial trays, femoral components, acetabular cups and hip stems. Most of these are forged and machined titanium, cobalt chromium and zirconium. ..
