Orchid Recognizes Employees at Annual Vrabel Awards

Posted: Wednesday, April 18, 2018

It’s a time to recognize Orchid employees who have contributed significantly to sales growth, gone the extra mile to maintain positive customer relations and have displayed exceptional leadership. It honors employees who model and exemplify Orchid’s core values. This is Orchid’s Annual Sales Awards: The Vrabels.

Created in 2013, the awards were named after Bill Vrabel, a former Orchid sales employee who received the first “Sales Leader of the Year” award for having the highest percentage growth in his territory. Since then, the awards have continued to grow and recognize more individuals for their dedication to Orchid. The current categories for the Vrabel awards are: Sales Leader of the Year, Site of the Year, Exceptional Customer Service, Exceptional Sales Employee, General Manager of the Year and the Mike Miller Leadership Award.

This year’s awards were recently handed out at Orchid’s Customer Appreciation Event on March 8. The following are the 2017 winners and their contributions to Orchid.

  • Sales Leader of the Year: Scott Reese, Sales Engineer. The category for Sales Leader of the Year is determined by the sales growth numbers.  Reese had 22.7% sales growth in his territory.
  • Site of the Year: Arab, Alabama. This site had improved performance in OTD, quality, and revenue growth.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Steve Walls, Line Manager, Sheffield, U.K. Walls went the extra mile and took ownership of a situation to partner with a customer and resolve a potential issue.
  • Exceptional Sales Employee: Matt Weber, Strategic Account Manager - Midwest. Weber consistently modeled the right behavior and produced results within his territory.
  • General Manager of the Year: Jason Ratcliffe, Bridgeport, Chelsea and Detroit, Michigan. Ratcliffe’s leadership helped drive Orchid’s organizational strategy to success.
  • Mike Miller Leadership Award: Ted Bloomfield, Sr. Director of Business Integration, Corporate. Bloomfield successfully took on more responsibility in 2017 and showed exemplary leadership.

Orchid would like to congratulate all its winners and their contributions to a successful 2017. We are looking forward to what we can accomplish in 2018!
