Mary Callaghan, Corporate Controller – Corporate

Ms. Callaghan joined Orchid in 1995 as Controller for Orchid Lansing and was promoted to Corporate Controller in January 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Davenport University.

Bob Naumann, General Manager – Orchid Detroit

Mr. Naumann joined Orchid in September 1996 as a TPS Robotics Operator. He was promoted to Plant Manager in November 1997 and then to General Manager in January 2006. Prior to Orchid, he attended the University of Toledo to study Computer Science and Engineering. After the University of Toledo, he received extensive management training and experience at United Parcel Service and Meijer.

Steve Maguire, General Manager – Orchid Design

Mr. Maguire has played a key role in the growth and development of Orchid Design since it was founded in 2004 where he currently holds the title of General Manager. With 35 years of experience in the medical products field, Mr. Maguire has held senior management positions in both large and small medical products companies. His product experience includes orthopedic, cardiovascular, general surgical, critical care and diagnostic and biomedical instrumentation. Mr. Maguire holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and an M.B.A. from the University of Bridgeport.

Nic Seymour, General Manager – Orchid Oregon

Mr. Seymour became a member of the Orchid team when Sandvik Medical Solutions (SMS) sold all SMS locations to Orchid in March 2012. He is the current General Manager of Orchid Oregon. Prior to working for Orchid, he had more than 30 years gaining international experience in the investment casting industry, with industrial gas turbine products, and with machining and coating. Mr. Seymour holds a Business Management degree from Leeds Metropolitan University.

Matt Rudd, General Manager – Orchid Lansing

Mr. Rudd joined Orchid in October 2014 as Vice President of Advanced Manufacturing Technology. Mr. Rudd brings to Orchid more than 25 years of forging and machining experience within the medical device and aerospace sectors, from hands on experience to strong background in managing global organizations. Mr. Rudd was most recently President of Apex Precision Solutions Inc., a contract manufacturer of precision components servicing the aerospace and medical device industries. Prior to that he served as a Sr. VP of Implants and Technical Services Division where he led five manufacturing sites. Mr. Rudd brings Orchid a proven progressive leadership and technical capability to Orchid’s manufacturing organization. He holds an Associate’s degree in Machining and Automotive Technology and Journeyman Tool and Die Maker. Prior to Orchid Mr. Rudd received extensive management training and experience with an emphasis on Executive Leadership Skills, Executive Lean Training and Lean Transformation Planning and Assessment.

Patrick Davidson

Patrick Davidson, General Manager – Orchid Chelsea and Orchid Memphis

Mr. Davidson joined Orchid in February 2012 as General Manager of Orchid Chelsea. He is a leadership and continuous improvement expert with more than 15 years of experience in industry. He has been an educator, full-time Continuous Improvement consultant, Value Stream Manager, Lean Six Sigma Engineer, Materials Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager and now a General Manager. He has worked in the automotive, education, healthcare, aerospace and orthopedic industries. He is also a professor at Villanova University in their Lean Six Sigma online programs. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University in Mathematics and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University.

Jason Ratcliffe, General Manager – Orchid Bridgeport
Jason Ratcliffe

Mr. Ratcliffe joined Orchid in August of 2012 as General Manager of our Bridgeport facility located in Bridgeport, Michigan. He brings 20 years of experience from the automotive, aviation and aerospace and defense industries. He also has a strong background in Lean manufacturing implementation and is a certified Six Sigma black belt. Mr. Ratcliffe graduated from Davenport University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.

Clay ClaytonClay Clayton, General Manager – Orchid Alabama

Mr. Clayton became a member of the Orchid team when Sandvik Medical Solutions (SMS) sold all SMS locations to Orchid in March 2012. He is the current General Manager of Orchid Alabama. Mr. Clayton began his career as a machinist in medical manufacturing, has more than 20 years of industry management experience in instruments, plus working with start-ups and overseeing multiple locations. Mr. Clayton completed his journeyman program in 1988 and attended Crichton College in 1994 and 1995 in the study of Organizational Management.

Jorge Garcia-Forgas, General Manager – Orchid Switzerland

Mr. Garcia-Forgas joined the Orchid team with the acquisition of Alhenia AG in September, 2015. Prior to becoming the President of Alhenia AG, he spent more than 15 years managing facilities at an industrial engineering and manufacturing company. He holds a Ph.D in Materials Engineering and an IMD in Executive Management Training.

Dave Beighton, General Manager – Orchid Sheffield

Mr. Beighton joined Orchid Sheffield in November 2013, but has a long history of working with a number of our businesses including those in the USA, while he worked with Sandvik before the SMS sites were acquired by Orchid. He has more than 30 years’ experience in manufacturing, serving markets such as Aerospace, Industrial Gas Turbines and Petrochemical. For the last 11 years his focus has been within the orthopaedics sector, in various Executive Management and GM roles. Mr. Beighton's career started as a technical apprentice when he studied Mechanical Engineering and Cast Metals Technology at Sheffield College, UK.

Matthew Scott, General Manager – Orchid California

Mr. Scott joined Orchid in February of 2016 as General Manager of our California facilities located in Arcadia and Santa Ana. He brings over 14 years of medical device manufacturing experience while holding leadership positions at companies such as Zimmer Holdings, Inc. and ConforMIS, Inc. He also has a strong background in Lean manufacturing, operational excellence and Six Sigma implementations. Mr. Scott graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Eric Noack, General Manager – Orchid Connecticut

Mr. Noack joined Orchid Connecticut in 2013 as a Lean Leader and was promoted to General Manager in March 2016. Mr. Noack has been involved with screw machining and precision manufacturing throughout his career, including commercial, aerospace and the automotive industries. His career focused on the application of Lean methods in 2001 and is a certified Lean Practitioner. He used that successfully when he entered the medical industry in 2010. Mr. Noack has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Nils Hordon, Director of Global Supply Chain – Corporate

Mr. Hordon joined Orchid in October 2014 as Director of Global Supply Chain, with more than 15 years supply chain experience. Most recently he was the Global Sourcing Manager at ITT Corporation where he was responsible for supplier performance, direct material savings and supply chain lean initiatives. Prior to that he held various positions of increasing responsibilities with Beckman Coulter and Black & Decker. Mr. Hordon spent eight years as an Officer in the Marine Corps and has earned a Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management from the University of San Diego, an MBA degree from National University of California and a BS in Business Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In addition, he is CPM certified and Lean Six Sigma-Black Belt Certified through ITT & University of Michigan.

Woody Hines, Director of Operational Excellence – Machining Division – Corporate

Mr. Hines became a member of the Orchid team when Sandvik Medical Solutions (SMS) sold all SMS locations to Orchid in March 2012. He is Director of Operational Excellence for the machining divisions. Prior to working for Orchid, Mr. Hines has more than 25 years medical, automotive, aerospace and heat exchanger manufacturing experience. He started implementing lean in the late 1980s and since that time certified as a master black belt in Six Sigma. Through the years, Mr. Hines has been an Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, Director of Quality, VP of Operations and VP of Manufacturing. Mr. Hines is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Missouri, has his BSME from Christian Brothers University of Memphis, TN and his MBA from Union University of Jackson, TN.

Ken Altman, Director of Advanced Manufacturing –Machining Division –  Corporate

Mr. Altman started with Orchid Bridgeport, formally Unique Instruments in 1988. Throughout his career he has held several positions including, CNC Programmer/Operator, Process Engineer, Product Development Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Engineering and Process Development Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Saginaw Valley State University.

Mark Mundy, Director of Operational Excellence – Implant Division – Corporate

Mr. Mundy joined Orchid in July 2015 as Director of Operational Excellence supporting the Implant Division. Mr. Mundy is an organizational, cultural and lean change agent with more than 30 years of Manufacturing & Operations Management, Materials, Logistics and Operational Excellence experience. Most recently, Mr. Mundy was the Continuous Improvement Manager for a leading manufacturer of highly engineered, customized solutions for the energy, transportation and industrial markets where he led a multiple plant lean transformation. Prior to that, he served as the Industrial Process Division Operational Excellence Manager and held various positions of increasing responsibility and leadership in Manufacturing, Operations and Operational Excellence. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College.
